One week and counting to the first driving trip of 2014! Sorry Horatio, its still not you. They changed the hall layout for the show we do in Geneva every year so the secure park we left you in last year is not available and the most useable campsite is not open until the end of May (really? yeah, really!)
So I spent a while with the calculator and even more on the logistics (don’t I have a Logistics Manager for that B?) and it just didn’t make sense so its Humphrey and hotels and B&Bs for nearly 2 weeks. Still looking forward to it, just the thought of being on the road in Europe again – I can’t wait!
We are just into the last few days of panic about what we have to do before leaving which is nothing to do with the trip, which in turn means more panic as there are lots of things we do have to do and the other stuff is getting in the way. More checklists are being written – again by me as B is doing the other stuff, which is also for me, so I suppose I cannot complain.
Its primarily a business trip, but with 2 weekends for ourselves, one in the Jura mountains which I have driven through every year for 11 years on the way to the show in Geneva, and at last a chance to have a proper look. Then we take the slow road home afterwards via the Champagne region, a town with a cheese factory and another with a castle which looks worth a visit. The last stop is near a major supermarket – so we have all bases covered hopefully.
Back to the countdown now…..
