This was the real honeymoon part of our trip. We were given a week in a “cottage” right on the shore of Lake Michigan. The weather was mostly fantastic, and we pootled up and down the shore on different days, but mostly just enjoyed being there. The cottage had belonged to an artist, and she decided to decorate nearly every surface with paintings – the current owners had painted over some as it was just overwhelming, but they left a lot out of respect to her, and it makes for a lovely holiday rental, quirky and charming.

The location is beautiful, the master bedroom has the bed facing the lake, you can sit up in the morning and drink your tea watching the changes in the lake surface… amazing.
And at night the sunsets are stunning.

Such a beautiful and tranquil place, we thank our friends so much for this and hope to repay them sometime in the future.
