A few weeks ago restrictions eased here in France, so following our camping trip we then dared to go on a business trip, combined with a catch up with our friends from the Gard region.
After leaving the area, we had promised ourselves a stay in the Chateau de Pondres, a few miles from St. Etienne d’Escattes. We ate there once before moving, and attended a wine tasting at which we got a mini tour from the manager who was our neighbour in the village
Happily Laurent was still there and welcomed us, though he was in a bit of a two and eight due to a wedding coming up at the weekend with a none too promising weather forecast! French weather continues to emulate the UK this year !
So here are a few more photos of this lovely place, though we were disappointed in the food and heard that in the last 2 years they have been through several chefs… c’est la vie.
