Saturday 23rd June, 43 miles, Kymi 2km!, sunny and warm

This morning we got up and out early – result!   Back into Sarlat on Kymi for the market.  The town looked totally different and we were so glad we had gone there the evening before to appreciate the architecture without the distraction of all the stalls.  We spent a couple of hours touring the market which was in virtually every street – even B enjoyed some shopping!

Steady on... B is smiling while shopping!!

After ze lurnch in Payrac – a very nice but salty kebab of beef, turkey, sausage and bacon –  we travelled some extremely winding  roads (good job B!) to find a breathtaking spot called Rocamadour.   It used to be a major pilgrimage destination, but now attracts mainly tourists.  You have a town at the lower level with a church/sanctuary above and a chateau above that.  We went into mountain goat mode and visited all levels  – having parked at the top – oops!   The trek was well worth it.  Now we are parked under some trees near the chateau in the evening sun drinking wine and eating olives.  C’est la vie.

Rocamadour - the first view - oh wow!

One of the very vertical views within the town
