I always think I am going to have lots of time to do posts on here, but with all the driving, working between times and internet issues I find that here I am, just a couple of days before the ferry back having only uploaded one short offering. Shame on me!
To be fair to myself, campsites currently have the same attitude to wifi that hotels had a few years back. If they provide it free it has to be at their café so you have to purchase refreshments. If they provide it across the campsite its either very poor quality or, more commonly, you have to pay extra for the privilege. I am hoping that soon it will be a normal part of the service, as with most (though still not all) hotels. People like myself who need to keep in touch with their businesses, as well as the usual family and friends, are seen more and more. The added frustration is that the mobile phone companies are still screwing us for both phone call and data roaming. They make it easy enough to connect, but impossible to figure out how much data you might have used and so you only find out when you get back if you went over the limit – and if you did, as I found out a couple of years ago, it can be excrutiatingly costly.
