Christmas in Sarlat

I thought I would share a few photos of our Christmas, including the Christmas Market in Sarlat, this year with a Mexican theme. They pick a different country to feature each year so this time a lot of sombreros and skull images in the decorations, though the items for sale are still French and the closest you could get to Mexican food was a chilli galette!

We had a very nice time wandering around this having started with a “vin chaud” (mulled wine) – the first stall you come too after being checked in with your health certificate, et pourquoi pas (and why not) we thought! It was a cold late afternoon so that warmed us up nicely for the walk around. Surprisingly (to us) we also found some lovely things to buy before finishing up with a galette and glass of local red wine (unadulterated this time!).

On the way back to the car we wandered through the old centre to view the lights there….

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, despite everything, and that 2022 will bring us all more joy and peace 🙂
