We stayed with the same friends near Niagara 2 years ago, and during that visit we did it all – toured Goat Island and viewed the upriver rapids and the Angel Falls (the ones on the American side), walked by the rapids below the falls, did the Jet boat ride up the same rapids, took a trip on the Maid of the Mist, got very wet, went to the Cavern of the Winds right up against the Angel Falls, got rather wet, visited the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side including the tour where you go in the tunnels behind them, got even wetter, and went up the Skylon Tower to view them.
Here are a few shots from those visits:
So, this time we did an evening visit so we could see the falls lit up in changing colours and stayed dry – you don’t need to do this to appreciate the Falls, the power and presence is just overwhelming, but it’s a nice angle on another visit and we enjoyed it immensely. As I mentioned on FB, I don’t think I will ever tire of coming here. Happily, our friends, who live nearby and are always taking their visitors there, feel the same!
And here is the silly photo from the first visit – its how the place makes you feel!
