This week we went back to Faro airport to meet B’s boys. So back to the railway station, we found a ticket office and bought tickets – bad move as it turned out. We watched tumbleweed for 20 minutes with a collection of other hopefuls and then were advised that there was no train – its broken! The next one was due an hour later – too late for their arrival.
We legged it back to the campsite and got them to call a taxi. None in Fuzeta so we had to wait for one to come from Olhao – the next town. So this wasn’t going well then! It finally arrived and we struggled back through Olhao and multiple traffic lights and roundabouts to the airport. Their flight had landed by then of course, but we had texted the day before for them to wait for us in the terminal if we were late.
No sign and their phones both switched off. 45 minutes later B checked outside for the second time and found them sunning themselves on the grass across the road! They had been there for 45 minutes and never read the text……mmmm
Since then it’s been hot, hot, hot!!
Today I braved the hairdressers and purely using sign language got a trim as I could no longer stand having my fringe in my eyes. That came with a free sauna underneath the towel and gown she put on me – and then she wanted to do a blow dry! Nooooooo!!
Later we are going back to the Ilha de Fuzeta (island beach) having purchased 2 body boards for the surf we saw yesterday, and a couple of low level chairs to supplement the 2 sunbeds and umbrella which 10 euros gets you for a day there. Can’t wait!
