Lots of posts! I have just uploaded 3 in a row (this is the bonus mark!). That in itself was a challenge due to the intermittent nature of the internet connection here.
But really I am not complaining. I am sitting outside at 10pm, its only just getting dark and I am in a sundress. B is watching footie (again). I am getting the chance to put my thoughts down for the record. And there is so much to record. We have many more photos than those on the blog, and the beauty is that the blog forces us to review them every couple of days before we forget what they are!
Tonight we are close to the river Lot. Hence the name of the department we are in and the blog title. After Sarlat we drove along the valley of the river Dordogne, again the name of the department. In Cognac its the Charente and in Nantes it was the Loire. We have a laminated map on a wall in Horatio showing all the rivers and now it starts to come alive. Literally some nights as its only secured with blu-tak and keeps falling off the wall – another job for B – just in case he runs out of things to do when I am working 😉
So now we will stay here for 3 nights – we need a rest – especially B after all those winding roads he has had to drive down. You can get a bit addicted to looking at the map for the next place to visit – especially if you are not the primary driver. Sometimes I miss more sights out of the windscreen as my nose is back in the map again!
But this is my dream and I am finally living it – and loving it!
