In 2 weeks time all the panicking will be over. We will have forgotten what we have forgotten, and remembered nearly everything we needed or thought we did. Today I ticked another item off the list – stitching loops onto our towels to hang them off the hooks in the shower room.
Yes, its only a little job, but it needed doing and was complicated by the latest parts failure on my 28 year old sewing machine. The cotton reel holder fell down about 4 times, each time despatching the reel onto the floor with a trail of cotton behind it. Then, to add injury to insult, the heavy metal base fell off onto my newly painted toenail when I put the machine away. Ouch doesn’t really cover it…
But another box ticked, together with a new euro account, euro currency card, scooter insurance and tax disc, 2 new electronic timers and some underpants (CK of course) for B – and all since Monday!
However, I did forget to put on the dinner so we have to eat at our local pub again tonight. Dommage! (shame).
Meantime the sewing job made me add and immediately tick off (I like doing that) another item for our preparation list – a mini sewing kit! Thank goodness for Chinese takeaway containers.
What next? Clothes. I keep returning to that issue. How does a girl who (naturally) loves her clothes and shoes manage for 4 months with so little. B is already virtually banned from the mini wardrobe – 2 shirts on 1 hanger is his current allowance. Well I do need work clothes as well as casual ones – and that of course means different shoes. I am trying to stick to one small handbag and that’s quite a challenge too. Of course we are going to Spain and Portugal which are full of outlets for shoes and handbags….watch this space as I fill our space!
