We finally picked up Horatio a couple of days ago. The damaged wheel arch which was vibrated apart by the rough so called A roads of the Iberian peninsula now looks like new. He has been serviced and hopefully whatever was causing repeat headlamp failures is fixed. The satellite dish now works properly and we have a TV!
Not so sure about that to be honest. B really wanted it and hopefully it will reduce the searches for sites with TVs showing footie or Formula One, but I feel I have lost rather than gained something. Four months without a lobotomy box certainly didn’t cause a problem. We talked a lot, played a bit of backgammon (though B was effectively playing himself), drank wine outside and were happier not seeing the news. In fact after a short relapse we have given up TV news for good. I have also lost my office cupboard so now we have to re-jig all the living area storage….mmmm
On 3rd February we will finally have been home for as long as we were away. Wow, that took a while to come – and yet it somehow feels like a lifetime, especially as England has been living up tp it’s reputation for horrible wet and cold weather – the sort which seeps into 50 year old bones. That looks even worse in print!
Now for the feeling young stuff. Plans are crystallising for not one, but two more trips in 2013 !
The first is Horatio and Harley Heaven! HHH will commence on 11 May and ferry crossings are already booked. There’s a tune playing in my head again- I’m so excited! More soon….
